Working my way through the basic course quickly to dust off old knowledge and maybe pick up some techniques that I missed when I used to mess around many years ago.

When I learned the open A chord years ago, I learned it with fingers 2, 1, 3 on the 4, 2nd and third strings (kind of a D chord shape all on the 2nd fret. I notice that here it is taught as 1, 2, 3. Searching online, I see both. The question I have, is whether or not there is some disadvantage to the way I've learned it what would make it worthwhile to unlearn and learn the different way?
