When I started out on guitar the only difference I found between acoustic and electric was that electric was easier to play. Ultimately, in pursuing Rock you'll run into embellishments and sounds that are more common to that genre and electric guitars but, IMO, the Fundamentals lessons apply to both acoustic and electric. I believe that at the the beginner level, guitar is guitar.
