Hello All,

My name is Jay and I'm 54 years old. I bought a guitar back in 2001 and took lessons at a local music store. The store went out of business a few months later so i decided to try it on my own with the internet and books. I kept at it pretty religously for a few years but never got any good. I could learn a song but it would take months and months and months it seemed just to learn one song. It never just "clicked".

About this time frame my 13 year old nephew started to play as well. Within a year or two he was improvising, he could listen to a song on a CD and just figure out how to play it. I was very happy for him but made me feel pretty stupid for my lame progress.

Well it's been almost 10 years since I touched one of my guitars and one day about three weeks ago I decided I would give it another try. Joined this site and decided to start right at the beginning with the fundimentals courses. I'm hoping this time it will "click".
