Took the guitar back to the shop and had the nut and bridge changed for a much lower action and had steel/silk strings installed. Money well spent but the index finger damage is already done. Looking forward to getting back to lessons with Lisa after a few days rest. Really enjoying Guitar Tricks learning style and system.
