Well said....that goes with what I posted about my first band where is was all audience audience audience. New stuff almost always got rejected because 'the audience wouldnt like that one.' There has to be give and take.....for me its sometimes good to have one or two songs where it's 'Look at Me, I can play!' as thats my personality - I have a love of being centre-stage and showing the world what I can do.
I wouldnt say the 'onlookers' have never considered creating anything....the audience will most likely have people who are yearning to learn the guitar but just havent got round to it yet. That was me once....
