I have the GRX40Z (Navy :))

I don't think I have the same amp as you - I got the one from the Ibanez package (IBZ10 I think). It sounds much less "plunky" when I turn the boost button on.

I know very little about guitar (let alone amps) yet, though, so don't take my word!
