Hi, guys. What's up? Hope all is well.

I've got a question that's been on my mind for a while now, but I'm not sure where to post it (Feel free to move it to the right section if not here, please), and I'm not sure how to explain it, but here goes:

Left hand/fretting hand fingers, which exact part of my fingers should I use? I mean I know I should use the tips of my fingers, but shold it be the top tip, the part right under my fingernail which will mak a 90 degrees angle? Or is it okay to use, how can I say it, the middle part/soft part of my finger, which is little below fingernails?
