Brighter strings than 80/20? Wow!

In my personal experience, even coated 80/20 bronze strings lose their brilliance rather quickly. A friend of mine uses similar strings and he changes his strings once a week for maximum brightness - once a week!

I'd also recommend trying a heavier gauge - perhaps the hybrid set .012 - .056 or even .013 - .056 to fully maximize the potential of driving the sound of the top. Please note that putting 13-56s on your acoustic may necessitate a setup on the instrument, as it will add additional tension to the neck.

What may also be of some value is trying a different string company. My personal favorites are D'Addario - they are consistent in craftsmanship and I rarely get bad strings. I also really like Thomastik-Infeld but fair warning: they are top-shelf strings and are thus priced accordingly.

Best of luck!

Monique
