This works for me, however, I wonder if its actually wrong or just personal choice. I use a spring capo and everything I have seen indicates that you place it as close to the fret bar as possible, but I tend to do the opposite to give my fingers room to move. Example: Assuming you are placing the capo on the third fret, I place it as close to the fret bar nearest the nut rather than the fret bar closest to the fourth fret. I have checked the notes while tuning and either way the notes are correct as far as my tuner goes. Is it wrong to place it close the the nut rather than the body of the guitar? Thoughts?
