Best Solo Ever
# 1
Actually, a lot of people would say that Hendrix couldn't even be compared to Metallica. Probably a lot of people wouldn't agree, but everyone has their own opinion. I just like them both, and I think they're both good at writing solos that I like just as much as the other's.
Rock and roll ain't noise pollution, but it can get pretty crappy these days.

for Christs sake! It's ok to compare metallica to hendrix even though they are like apples and oranges. They are both great musicians and are technically equal players.
What it boils down to is oppinions. I hate it when someone gets famouse (especially after they are dead) that it's almost herecy to say anyone is better than that person. Quit being sheep!
Now to contadict myself.......Neither are a pimple on Mozart's, pagainini's, or Segovia's *ssses as for as over musicianship goes. Who cares? Just my oppinion...others will differ and that's what makes life great.
I love so many musicians no mater the genre that it's so hard for me to pinpoint "Who's the best?"

I started learning guitar because of Randy Rhoads..but Yngwie J. Malmsteen is my biggest influence.

I can compare Rhoads to Iommi,to Petrucci to Bb King...it just goes on, I think you could probably link all good muso`s,( probably even Les Claypool to Eric Clapton: a great bassist to a guitar legend)They all must share common ground somewhere.
As to the best solo, try one of Randy Rhoad`s solos

Ive just recently been getting interested in guitar solos again, and I still have to say Eric Bell's solo in "Whisky In The Jar" by Thin Lizzy is my favourite.

Hey! You didn't put "hmmm" in the subject line!
Best solo, eh? How about these:
"Mother" by Pink Floyd
The live version of "Comfortably Numb" on the "Pulse" record by Pink Floyd
"Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen
"No one like you" by Scorpions
"Yellow Ledbetter" by Pearl Jam
"Shine On You Crazy Diamond" by Pink Floyd...
Ok, I'll stop now.
... and that's all I have to say about that.
