I see threads here all the time from beginners asking which guitar to buy. Here is my two cents. I just bought a Yamaha FGX 800 C and it is an excellent guitar for a beginner. Retails for around $250.00 at guitar center and its an excellent guitar. If you want to move up one step from it and get something even better, go with a Yamaha FGX 820 C at around 375.00. Only real difference between the two is the FGX 820 has dressed frets and its slightly better quality. Either guitar is perfect for a beginner. One proviso, mine came with the action a little high toward the saddle and its worth the 50.00 at GC to have it set up by a pro luthier. Good luck to all you beginners!!!
