So, after years of struggling to find what really works for me I have decided to give this a legitimate shot and see how it goes. I tried pretty much every other "easy"and "fun" method of learning and none really stuck. I currently have Rocksmith 2014 and decided to toss a few bucks this way simply because the structure seems to actually work with me and it is very easy to skip the parts that just don't apply to me without losing significant information which is my main problem with a lot of other methods like Youtube or other sites I have tried. I felt like I was hitting a plateau every time I tried because I would skip a basic video and end up missing something important and then would have to go back and look for it... finally just got burnt out and put the guitar away.

I even went as far as buying a new Gibson SG in 2013 to try and convince myself to stick with it for longer. It helped some but still the instruction got to me and Rocksmith was too overwhelming so I ended up putting it away again.

Fortunately, I am in a position now where I am alone most nights until 1-2am, school is no longer an issue, and I have a ton of free time. So it seems like the perfect opportunity to give GT a shot.

I have actually been kicking around the idea of recording my progress and tossing it up on youtube for myself just to show how far I have come and how long it took. Maybe a weekly progress starting next month. Give me time to get past the uninteresting stuff.

Current gear:

2013 Ebony Gibson SG Standard with 57 Classics
Assorted V-Picks
Avid Elevenrack
ProTools 12
Logic Pro X

I also have some amp software but would like to get a decent amp at some point. Maybe if this goes well I will grab one for myself lol. Look forward to making progress and chatting with you all along the way.
