I have a Roland Cube 20gx. It only provides me an input channel , one recording out and a Foot SW connection.

So, I would assume that I would connect the guitar with the RP500 and the RP500 then with my amp.

How do I make sure that my amp doesn't "change" the sound? Sorry for my stupid question but I'm just a beginner

You're right about the connection sequence. I don't think it's that the RP500 would have technical problems with a modeling amp, but it's more that if you had a modeling amp, you don't really need the RP500, at least not if you don't plan to use a lot of different effects.

In your case, the Roland Cube is a really basic amp, so I think the RP500 will do fine with it.
