Well, I'm not as old as you but I am 71 and just starting. Practice is a bit tuff for me time (and finger) wise but I must admit that I to tried a teacher but found it to expensive and was about to give it up when I discovered this site. I really love it. The pace is right for me as a beginner and I can "really" see were to place my fingers which is GREAT! I hope in maybe a year I might even be able to play a song by memory :-)
