You say you ditched the books and CD's for now but there is plenty more you can get from them.....

If you find yourself bored with the music your listening, try some new bands or soloists.....look out for names, many are kicked about on here. Try looking at new scales and see how they sound. On your electric guitar check out effects and see if they add anything for you....easiest way is to browse in a guitar store....I do that all the time.
