It can certainly be used fuzzb0x, but IME it won't sound as good as an purposed acoustic amp if the acoustic is an e-acoustic with pre-amped output unless the amp used has a true bypass clean channel selectable option like my Fender Champion 100.
i.e. I could use my APX600 e-acoustic with my Blackstar ID:Core which sans LCD is similar in many respects to Fender's Mustang GT. But because there is no true clean amplifier pre-amp bypass channel, it doesn't sound as good IMO as it does on either the purposed Acoustasonic or bypass selectable input Champion.
OTOH if the intended guitar was a pure acoustic fitted just with a typical portable sound hole passive pickup without pre-amp stage, it'd sound fine in a pre-amped electric amp input like the ID:Core or Mustang GT, and a little virtual app or real world tactile knob fiddling would result in acceptable if not optimal tones.
If noise is all that's wanted, amp choice and pre-amping is immaterial. OTOH .....
