Greetings and salutations to the GT collective! I stumbled across this site while figuring out a way to better hone my playing skills and would allow me to do so with my Railroad work schedule. So far, so good! There's lots of great stuff on here for sure.

I started playing when I was 12... that was almost 27 years ago. Where does the time go? lol. At that same time many moons ago, I started playing Viola as well in the Jr. High orchestra. I continued that on through High School. Played rhythm guitar one year for the HS jazz band too. Here's the kicker... I can't sight read treble clef at all (Alto was hardwired in no problem back then). I almost exclusively play by ear. Sometimes tab. Some of the guys I work with play guitar as well, and if we get together to 'jam' it can get pretty interesting. They'll get frustrated because I can't tell them the type of most of the chords I play. I guess that's what 2 hours of formal instruction can do for ya, lol! They usually will end up setting their git-fiddles down and start playing songs off their phone for me to pick apart. Good times. I'm like the Happy Gilmore of guitar playing.

Anyway, I'll wrap this long winded post up. I'm hoping to stick some more knowledge in between these ears of mine, and toss some leads/licks into my rhythm playing. Should be fun!

Cheers!
They've done studies you know... 60% of the time, it works EVERY time.
