Hey guys,

I just picked up a guitar for the first time about a month ago and am going through the core course with an acoustic (currently on melodies on all strings). I've been structuring my practice sessions so that I get to review a lot of the material that I've already covered, mainly because I'm afraid my fingers will 'forget' those lessons if I don't practice them frequently. As you might expect, it's getting to the point where I want more time to keep moving forward through the lessons (or practice the more recent/entertaining/difficult ones) instead of just reviewing what I think I already have a handle on (I still make some minor mistakes, but it's more due to me getting confused rather than me not knowing what I'm doing).

Just wondering if anyone has any tips on how much to review previous lessons vs. moving forward. Should I just feel comfortable with a lesson before moving on? Should I try to do everything perfectly? I'd appreciate any tips you guys have.

Cheers,

Fran
