Lots of times I have felt that way. Frequently, my technique has not caught up to what my interest level is. I may step back for a while then go back to it later when my technique is better. Frequently the problem is rhythm, so I'll practice an easy chord (ie, c, em,) with the complicated rhythm without changing chords. Then I'll try changing chords without any rhythm. Finally, I try to combine the complicated rhythm with new chord changes.
