Hey Jared! For such a big tutorial (with lots of lessons and 3 guitar layers), we decided to keep things a bit simpler and teach all the parts in standard tuning.

At first, we strongly considered teaching it in open G. But in the end, we felt the differences between playing it in open G vs. standard tuning were subtle.

However, once you've dug into the standard tuning version, feel free to experiment with the chord voicings and adapt the rhythm parts into the open G tuning if you so desire!
