My town has been a great inspiration for songs. In France, it is know that people from Marseille are first from Marseille, then from France. I would be sad to leave my town, or not being able to turn around and the "la bonne mère" (the good mother) watching us...


As you can see, it dominates our town, and everyone, catholics, muslims, jews, atheists, see her as a symbol of protection. Now if everything was that simple!
People traditionally go there before an exam, to light a candle, or you go there after an accident if you didn't die, or if you recover from a big illness. Seeing all those 'thank you' written in stone in "la bonne mere" brings tears to my eyes when I go visit her.

It's a place I take visiting friends to, since you also have a 360 view over Marseille. Beautiful things bring inspiration.
