Ive been promising myself that i would learn to play the guitar for numerous years , but for one reason or another it never happened.
Now at the age of 47 i have finally taken the plunge and bought myself a Yamaha FG 700 .
I confess to having never played a musical instrument of any kind before and also do not know a thing about music so i feel i am at the beginning a very long slog
My initial plan is to go purely down the acoustic route and this site should give me a good basic foundation before deciding what style of play i wish to pursue
After a couple of weeks of strumming i now have six or seven chords under my belt and am starting to develop rough calluses .
At this stage any advice or tips would be much appreciated , also some pointers as to which tutors or lessons may be of use to me would be good.
