Well this has turned into a sad thread. It's really too bad this is not going to work. It does sound like you are making the best choice considering what I have read.

You may still find it useful to make a list of the songs you know and post them where others can see. That way if you do get a call you know it's someone with the same taste in songs. It might only work into a jam session every so often, but still you would be jamming and maybe learning new stuff at the same time. From there who knows................
