Thank you for sharing your story! I think it's amazing that you've chosen the guitar to become your voice. That's great!

I think you'll find the community here (instructors AND members) very supportive. There are a number of instructor here that do the instructional stuff, but it's pretty coherent. Anders does the blues and rock stuff. Chris S. handles the beginner and theory stuff. Ask them questions any time and they will do everything they can to give you an answer and point you to what you need.

The song lesson library here is awesome. Like you, I don't like learning from tab. I've learned so many songs here it's incredible.
