After "lurking" around Guitar Tricks for 5 months I finally took the plunge and joined for a year starting today! I first fell in love with guitar as a teenager in junior high school. I think I was around 14 or 15 when I got my first guitar. Forgot what kind it was, but the action was AWFUL! I took lessons (Mel Bay) and learned some stuff. Traded in my first guitar for a used one with better playability. An old Harmony. After a while I gradually stopped playing. Grew up, got a job and real life took over. I never got rid of my guitar after all these years. For 35 years it lived in the closet, wearing the same strings, waiting patiently. Last spring my neice started showing interest in guitar so I showed her what I remembered, which wasn't much, but it was enough to re-kindle my joy! I went and got some new strings for this 40 year old guitar and tightened em up and... you probably guessed it... CRACK!!! Died of a broken neck!! It took me 3 months to decide Martin vs. Taylor. Ended up with a Taylor D110. I am taking lessons now but liked the Guitar Tricks site as well. For the price of 3 lessons, I can get a whole year of access to all this stuff!! So, hello everyone! Let's play!!
