I did on one, and ther other I got used on ebay. They're both fabulous. It's me that sucks.
Which Fender guitar? Made in the USA or Mexico?
Don't overlook ebay. You don't need to spend thousands on a new guitar.

If you are just starting out, there are only a few things to consider. If going electric there are a few starter kits that are good enough. After all, the key word is starter. I started with an Ibanez starter kit. It came with almost everything I needed. I also purchased a tuner, and upgraded the cable. Ten years latter and I am still playing the same guitar. Starter kits can take some of the guess work out of this process. What ever you decide, PRACTICE every day.

I found a telecaster that was made in Mexico and I love it. A good set up, some Elixer strings, and a Blues Junior amp. I'm very happy with it.

Man look at the Beatles and the Hofner bass it was the low end at the time , John Lennon and George Harrison, used Epiphones, the low end guitars now every one would love to have one. Take a Les Paul for example I have a standard Epiphone my Brother has a beautiful Gibson. It is very nice , he had it set up for himself and does play well , the sound is much fuller than mine. But really sound the same. I have a Gibson Telecaster made a short time in the early 80's , I love that thing and sound so great, because of wear I have had to replace pick ups, with a 59 semore duncun humbucker in the neck position and a Carvin strat in the bridge with high mids. and a new pickup switch and cord pulg in. Only because of years of playing . I will tell you this a good player can make a guitar with a warped neck sound great even , I've seen it done. Learn to play well and get a good cord like planet waves , spend the bucks on the cord to help stop the noise. A Good Amp is how you will get a lot of good sound and harmonics and that heart pounding feeling. Not a lot of money for a tube amp ? Hey check out Carvin .com they have a real great amp sx300! Really no joke test one out they will ship it to you and made in USA. It is light cause it's not a tube amp but really plays and sound great! Sure can not beat a Marshall or Fender Reverb or Blues amp or take your Pick , only go to a store play many different guitars find the one you fall in love with, just note the neck widths and how easy is it for you to fret are the frets to big or far apart or to small and hard to fret each string for ( your ) hand . Is the guitar to heavy , or not enough gain from pickups or hard to get harmonics or a response from the electronics on your guitar, is it to noisy or do you get shocks from it when you play and start to sweat. find a friend and play his or hers and talk with them If they love guitar they will want to help. Have fun man and let your inner artist come out , and it will in time with practice ,practice , practice. Oh don't for get to listen and learn from others.
