Not exactly starting at the beginning, but glad to be here.
I've been pottering about with a guitar since I was nine, but at the age of very nearly 40, I'm wanting to give this a serious go.
I've just bought a nice little acoustic-electric guitar- lovely tone, great action, but want to take my playing a little further now. I've volunteered to do some singing for a band, but what they don't know yet is that I can play a little. I'd rather do a little practice first.
My influences are quite eclectic, and range from Metallica to Neil Diamond, but my favourite will always be Brian May from Queen. I don't aspire to that- I'm pretty certain that listening to that guitar is a lot less complicated than playing it!
I hope there are other people at about the same point out there- hi to you all, and maybe we'll talk at some point.
