Hi Dave, I've played a Mitchell before and liked it. There's nothing like getting a new guitar!

If you're starting out it's really helpful to follow a course like Guitar Fundamentals, but there's nothing wrong with bouncing around to find other lessons that interest you too, it's good for motivation. But sticking to a course while you do that will help you progress with a solid foundation and that really makes a difference.
