I am a cancer patient, multiple myeloma. On disability, I had a Gibson Mk 35 acoustic that I had a hard time playing. My fingers just don't have the dexterity that they once had. I traded it in, even up, for a Framus Stellara, a hollow body electric. I have been flirting with the guitar since I was a teenager (I am now 59) but never really devoted the time or effort to get past the "beginner" tag. Now, I have no excuses, and I have an opportunity to play at my church. I am surprised that now, facing the end, I find that things I wish I had done so long ago still hold my interest, and are still important. Playing music is such a wonderful diversion. I just get lost in a song, and it takes me away from all of my day to day concerns. I hope I have found a way to get where I want to be with the instrument.
