I bought my first guitar a year and a half ago. I learned a couple songs playing notes, with a couple beginner books. ( I wasn't good with cords.) Then I decited to bring my playing to a new level. I started GT two weeks ago and now a can play a couple cords, thanks to a few tips from your Instructors.
