LOL . . . so are you saying that you actually bought it? Or do you have a 'well' cracked version?

Sorry. I was merely warning people of the dangers of doing so.

Nope, but I work on a computer that has a legally registered version on it.
My computer at home is too crappy to run any kind of recording software on. :(

That program, Logic Audio, has nothing to do your U-8. They're just talking about different multi-track recorder computer programs. I searched around. I never saw a MAC driver for the U-8. There are drivers for the PC, though. If you want to use it take it over to a friend's house that has a PC.

http://www.proaudiomusic.com/keyboards/roland/roland-u8.htm

The U-8 does seem to have some Mac compatability through a VST plug-in. I don't know what the plug-in is, or if it's available, or what, but it does seem to exist somewhere (or so this pages suggests).

You can look here, but I didn't see anything that screamed "ROLAND U-8 FOR THE MAC!" so good luck.

If you're going to monkey around with a PC, get a Dell. Their commercials suck, but they're the best "big" name you'll get your hands on. Gateway, Compaq, HP, etc all make crappy computers. Nice specs, bogus componants.

I notice most of Roland's stuff is Mac compatable; it may be cheaper just to get a new mixer.

Gateways and Compaqs are definitely crap, but from my experience, HPs are alright.

I'd found the same thing too. Until recently that is.
Either I've run into a few lemons as fo late or new HPs are garbage.

Well, they almost got bought out by Compaq so maybe some of it rubbed off. Lol.
