And thanks too for your comments, amclean68. I understand how you might feel incredulous at the omission of “Comfortably Numb” and “Hotel California” from a piece on famous outros. They, along with "Layla," "Hey Jude," and "Stairway to Heaven," top my personal list of memorable rock outros. However, I purposely omitted my favorites as I’ve already written on each of these songs and/or artists in recent months. I also decided against writing a list with rankings so that I could open the piece up to songs that might fall beyond a Top 10. Songs that perhaps aren’t so obvious but are awesome nonetheless, like “Moonage Daydream.” But I couldn’t agree with you more—”Comfortably Numb” and “Hotel California” have two of the best endings ever put to music. ;)
