Whats your rush? Do you have an audition with a record label? Seriously. I'm completely brand new myself. I'm feeling a bit insecure about the notes, chords, frets. Ouch! I'm trying to memorize the notes and placement of my fingers of my left hand while my right is trying to pluck. Awkward as heck. So, I do feel your angst. But! Being in a rush and getting frustrated will make you HATE looking at your guitar and you'll practice less. Think about what is frustrating you the most then work on that. Laugh at yourself more. If you mess up, then do it again, but with more flare! Have fun with it. Once you get it out of your system, settle down and try it again. Slowly and with more care.
I know I'm new and probably not one to give out advice. But, I do know that if you make it like work or a "do or die" thing, you'll bum yourself out and quit.
I, myself, have a support system whether she wants to be or not. My teenage daughter. I plucked out Jingle Bells. It sounded good. I rushed to her side, sat down almost on her lap and made her listen as I played it 6 times! But thats because the first 5 I kept screwing up! :)
Good luck!
