One simple thing I learned about chords is this:
Form the desired chord on the fret board. Then with that fretted hand, lift the hand away from the board at arms length, trying to keep the shape. Then slowly bring that hand back to the fretboard with the basic shape already made in the air. Place the fretting hand on the fret board with that shape.
Try easy shapes first.
