Hi! My name is James. I am a 23 year old male from western Pennsylvania. I am in need of a new hobby and have been pondering on a musical instrument. Guitar seems to be a route that you cant really go wrong if you dont know what you want to try.

I have never really been musically inclined. I took trumpet lessons when I was in fourth grade (long time ago!). That went OK but anything I ever learned about music kind of slipped its way. Obviously i will be starting from the absolute beginning and I am fine with that. My real question is what would you guys/gals recommend as a type of guitar that an absolute beginner should start out on. I enjoy both the sound of an acoustic and electric. To me an acoustic sound is more mellow and calm. An electric is more loud. So I kind of answered my own question. I want a sound that is more easy on the ears and very enjoyable. Sounds like an acoustic to me!

If anyone has any other suggestions or anything please repost. If I am completely wrong in everything I mentioned above please let me know!
