Especially, with things that have a more complex rhythm. For example, trying to learn the solo in Pantera's Walk. Some of those licks frustrated me so much, I just gave up on them. So ultimately, my metronome problem equals haveing issues playing quickly with accuracy. I like alot of old school rock and heavy metal, so this frequently affects my playing. I can play fast, just really sloppy alot of times. I also have a bit of trouble bending in tune.

As I was always told, better to play slower and neat then to play fast and sloppy.my suggestion is to pull back some, start with a slow tempo and build on that and don't move the tempo up until you can hear every note nice and clean.good luck.
