So... I've been bouncing around this and other forums trying to get a handle on "reputation", reputation points, and what it means to 'add' to someone's reputation. Is there a FAQ page or other source that explains it all? Or do one of you 'guys' want to fill me in?

What keeps one from voting for one's self and inflating their own rep (whatever that is...)?

Is it all just a 'click if you like this post' or something more?
