Thanks wildwoman1313 for that great review and reminder of what an awesome album Machine Head is, although I think that compared to the tracks from it that appear on Made in Japan they sound a bit stiff. Not surprising considering the circumstances under which they recorded it.
Made in Japan is still, I think, the best live album ever, the pure energy and spontaneous showmanship, complete with classic talk-back chat....."can we have everything louder than everything else" and other gems. Wish I'd been at those shows in Japan.
