I'm really not an expert on tremolo. I just bought my first guitar with a tremolo. But here goes.

My friend as a Jackson Rhoads EX that as a Floyd Rose. I never liked the feel of it. Strangly the guitar I bought also as a Floyd Rose but they are not the same, I love the feel of mine.

What I discovered is that they are not Floyd Rose but Licensed to Floyd Rose Parts which I think is different. Just be sure to check that out. They are still great tremolo's but they are not the same. two different builds with the same Licensed to Floyd Rose parts.

My advice would be to test how it feels first and test more than one guitar. Mine is a Yamaha.

One other thing, they are a pain to tune so be prepare to curse a lot when tuning and changing strings.
