We just got our 9 yr old daughter her first guitar (GS Mini). No one else in our home has ever picked up a guitar either, so all complete novices. She doesn't know, but I've been playing around with it more than she has -sshhh. It seems more difficult than I had imagined - but hopefully we'll get the hang of it fairly quickly.
