I have been playing the guitar for 6 years - without any prior lessons - and recently i decided to take some. I discovered that i had developed an array of bad habbits and the worst one is the fact that i use "doubling" in solos. When i play solos - i naturally start picking like crazy - where my right hand is vibrating faster than my left hand can catch up with .... The problem is that my guitar teacher said that when i play such fast solos i end up hitting one note more than once because my right hand is much faster than my left , and so it can't catch up. How do i solve such a problem? He told me to play the same solo's but to slow down and practice slow alternate picking with a metronome ... then gradually build up. But then i'm playing children of bodom / savatage solo's and slowing down tottally messes me up with speed. Is there another method of curring this bad habbit.(and can i solve this problem b4 i'm 18 ??)
