This is a good debat, I like hearing sober musicians are out there, and the trend to be a walking corpse is coming to a close. "..it increases the desire, but ruins the performance..";some quote out of a shakespear play, the character was commenting on wine.
How about shamanism...they used drugs to learn about the spirit world- however they didn't use for pleasure or abuse the substances.
