On the contrairy drugs shouldn't be used. Yes, some artist had made some well know pieces of art/music, whatever. But, lets face it, I've never seen some one on influence making a rembrandt masterpiece or a mozart concerto suite.
It's pretty sad for you Lalimacefolle, but it can't be the place was full of that kind of people ? Maybe you're looking at the wrong place ?
