Exactly. I know all kinds of insanely good guitarists and they use no set type of pick... unless the 'set type of pick' happens to be their 'favorite type.' Use what's comfortable; that's what makes it the best.

I use fairly heavy Dunlop Tortex picks myself for most guitar stuff and no pick at all for bass. It's what works for me, so it's what I do.
