I want to be able to hang it low....but I just can't. My wrist has to bend way too much and it's painful to play, so I keep it up high. When it comes to guitar, comfort is the first thing you should look at when asking things like "how do I play this", "how should I hold this", "where should my fingers or hands be", ect. Everyone will be different and it all revolves around what is comfortable for them, so experiment with new positions for stuff.
