I changed my strings and that really helped. They were a year old, and had some serious practice time on them. I'd noticed that the G string had picked up a ring to it when I played the A note on it. I went ahead and changed all of the strings and the ringing and after tone are both gone now. It's also much easier to tune the guitar.
