Is John in a place now where he has already made those 30 years worth of music that we can hear some day? I'd like to think so. But I confess, I'm not sure.

All the same, this article was good and appropriate today, October 9, 2010, in remembrance of John Lennon. I liked the attention to detail, like that Aunt Mimi said that she knew instantly at the hospital she was supposed to be John's mother instead of Julia - I'd never heard that before. Mimi did what she could, it seems, "despite his [John's] rascally nature" (I am a fan of this phrase), though she did tell him that guitar was fine as a hobby but he'd never make a living at it...which is probably fairly true about 85-90% of the time. It's just funny how wrong she was with John, and how wrong Decca Records would later be when they shunned the epic Beatles, saying, "Groups of guitars are on their way out."

Epic fail. Epic win.

Happy 70th anniversary of John Lennon's birth, everyone!
