hey man, you're looking for ways to build technique and stuff right? alright... i've done a lot of that in years past... what you need to do is just go in your room, crank up the radio, or an album that's particulary good, (some hendrix or something is usually good for this, or anything that isn't really fast tempo if possible) and just improv (play on the scale it's in) for long periods of time. It'll probibly sound terrible starting off, depending on how good you are already... BUT--- that's how you get good, you'll naturally (if you're anything like me) just stop playing certain things that your ear says sounds bad, and as for the good little things you do, you will play those more and more, it can even develop your style, so be careful not to listen to exclusively one artist or you could possibly end up like some of the other guys out there who sound just like their favorite artist(that's bad, by the way)
