I've taken lessons from local instructors for the past year. I have an acoustic guitar, but would like to steer more towards rock music. Is the rock portion of the lessons here geared towards electric guitar only? How much does it matter right now?
I bought an acoustic to start because I thought it'd be a cheaper way to get my feet wet. And just in case I turned out to be completely incapable of learning to play, I wouldn't be too invested. Maybe that was stupid, but it seemed like common sense at the time.
I'm also wondering if it would be a good idea to start from the very beginning of the lessons, just in case I've missed something, or was taught the wrong way to do something.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting started and want to continue learning.
Any advice is appreciated.
