I didn't look this up, but I am pretty sure it might be from around 1987. I have a similar but smaller (20w) Peavey Audition Plus that I bought then and never used personally until this past year. I am pretty certain the Backstage 30 was a model available at the time. These "transtube" amps have a bit if a rep for feedback once the dial starts getting past 12:00 or so, even on the clean channel. I know mine did, but otherwise is a tough little amp. They also have a reputation for being built like a tank.
